Alzinnovate creates products that brighten the lives of aging people by simplifying and improving the things that bring them joy. We focus on Alzheimer’s and dementia, because when we get it right with them, we help everybody.

The Alzinnovate story as told by founder and CEO Lisa Malvea:

Alzinnovate began in 2015, when I heard a presentation about the amazing effect listening to music can have on people with dementia. My mom was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s in 2006, and it was painful to watch the fun-loving, joke-cracking woman who raised me slipping away. My dad, brothers, close family, and I live for the moments of joy we share when her old personality “comes back.” It reminds us that she’s still in there, helps us reconnect, and energizes us to continue the 24/7 job of taking care of her.

It wasn’t long before I connected with marketing executive/consultant and former colleague Eleni Shipp to begin the initial research. Next came Ben Hopkins, who led agency creative teams for me at two different companies. Both Eleni and Ben understood the pain of watching a loved one suffer from dementia and were excited by the opportunity to make a difference together.

With our team in place, we searched the globe and found the perfect solution in lift! —the digital music player actually designed for people with Alzheimer’s and dementia. lift! is a top-quality product that I know you and your loved ones will enjoy for years.

Lisa Malvea, Founder and CEO

Lisa created Alzinnovate to make a difference by helping families live, laugh, and love more with a loved one who has Alzheimer's. 

She has 30+ years of experience and classical training in sales, general management, organizational redesign, and supply chain operations at Procter & Gamble and Clorox. She also spent 7 years leading three small companies to triple revenues in industries outside of consumer products including helping a company emerge successfully out of Chapter 11 bankruptcy.

Lisa has built a reputation for having a futurist mentality, always pushing for breakthroughs with a constant eye on operational basics to deliver commercial success. She loves collaboration, co-creation and using insights to activate for results.

Lisa earned her MBA in Marketing & Finance and a BS in Accounting from the University of Tennessee.  She's been married 30 years with 3 children and their dog Skyler. Contact Lisa. 

 
 

Eleni Shipp, Vice President

Eleni has an amazing mind and work ethic to match. She and Lisa first met 20 years ago at Procter & Gamble, where Eleni served in Brand Management, Strategy Development, and Human Resources.

Her Procter & Gamble highlight reel is impressive:

• Pioneered Shopper Research/Marketing to Grow Brands with Retailers--A recent  Deloitte study shows that this capability helped 100 companies double their rate of category growth . 

• Helped create a new channel that has grown from $600,000; to over $2B.

After P&G, she spent 12+ very successful years consulting with P&G, Disney, Nestle, Kellogg’s, Pepsico, Kraft, Campbell’s, Heinz, Mars and other Fortune 500 companies on innovation best practices, new product introductions and marketing plan improvements

Eleni has also worked in private equity, where she’s helped find companies to invest in, and then helped to grow them.

Eleni excels at product innovation, finding new revenue streams, consumer and shopper marketing, and omni-channel/digital strategies.

She has a BS in Economics and Business from University of Michigan and an incredible, infectious passion for our young brand. Contact Eleni.

Ben Hopkins, Vice President

Ben has almost three decades of experience as an ad agency writer and Creative Director working with national and global clients including Capital One, AT&T, Sprint, Hardee’s, NAPA Auto Parts, and Carestream Dental, as well as a number of tech startups.

He has experience in all media with specific expertise in direct and retail shopper marketing, as well as a proven ability to develop and execute strong integrated creative strategies and brand visions. He also watched his dad develop and die from Alzheimer’s so he knows our audience well.

Another interesting thing about Ben is that he has extensive training in family and systems-based cognitive and behavioral therapy, including years as participant in and Assistant Facilitator of a nationally known year-long Professional Development Program for family therapists.

Ben graduated from the University of North Carolina in Greensboro with a BA in Communications Studies, and considers Alzinnovate the most important brand he's ever been a part of. Contact Ben.
